All Grown Up
Time went by, and the little girl became a teenager, her parents were more mature, and Laiza was still the same (perfect!). Sometimes, the teenage girl became rebellious with her parents, so Laiza said, “You are out of control! You need to think, be calm and breathe! Someday, you’ll understand.”
The only one who could calm the teenage girl was Laiza. The teenage girl looked into Laiza’s dark eyes, and just let everything go.
As the years went by, Laiza knew that the dream of the young woman was to travel and see the world, and this time was near. She felt sad because she loved this family so much! Dad laughed a lot with her, and she loved that he tickled her belly. Laiza loved Mom too, because she took care of Laiza.
Then, one day Laiza said, “You know I love you so much, you, Dad and Mom are my family. But I was here for one reason, to teach you that you are the most important person in your world. Now that you know this, take care of yourself! You love your family just the way they are, so love yourself too!”
The young woman asked Laiza, “But why are you telling me this? It sounds like you are saying goodbye!”
And Laiza responded, “I’ll never say goodbye, never, ever, ever. But it is your time to fly! I want you to travel, I want you to visit a lot of places, and I want you to make your dreams come true. Mom and Dad are busy, and you can’t take me with you. So, I decided I would continue my own journey.”
The young woman broke into tears and said, “You can come with me, or stay with my parents! I don’t want to lose you. You are my friend, my sister, my pet, my first love. Please, stay with me! You’re family! This house is your house.”
Laiza replied, “I will always be your friend and your first love, but I am a traveler. When I found you with the clown, I understood you needed me. But you are an adult right now, and I taught you what love is like. And now it is my time to continue my trip, my galactic journey. I am Laiza the Galactic Dog.”
That day, Laiza convinced the young woman to buy her ticket and start her own travels. So, two nights before the young woman took her to fly, Laiza said, “It’s time. I gave Dad a lot of kisses and I let Mom bathe me. Maybe tomorrow they will ask you where I am… Tell them I returned to the countryside.”
